Global TV for show

ABOUT 350 million viewers could be tuning in to watch Fiji Fashion Week (FJFW) 2012 next month. This follows confirmation from international fashion and lifestyle network — Fashion One TV — that it will cover the event and promote what it has described as "the exceptional Fiji talent, style, culture and hospitality to its global fashion forward audience". "Fashion One proudly supports Fiji Fashion Week 2012, and agrees the event will produce many positive outcomes for Fiji," said a statement from Fashion One Oceania's Peter Campbell. Ashley Jordan, the head of programming for Fashion One said: "Fiji Fashion Week 2012 is an exciting event for Fashion One to broadcast. We feel honoured to support the emerging and established designers showcasing the best in fashion in Fiji and around the world. Fashion One is bringing its production signature style to Oceania events with its massive global audience and round-the-clock programming streamed over seven satellites. Mr Campbell said: "Our satellite companies, say 350 million households across Asia, the US and Europe, have access to the Fashion One channel. "Fashion One programming is only shown in high definition (HD) quality." FJFW managing director Ellen Whippy-Knight said getting Fashion One TV to cover any fashion week was challenging enough but to interest the network to come to Fiji was a huge boost. "FJFW is more than just the week itself, we are committed to the long-term development of the fashion industry here and to do that, we have worked hard to make long-term partners with players in the industry," Ms Whippy-Knight said. "When it comes to television for fashion, one can't get bigger than Fashion One. We are honoured that they have agreed to come to Fiji."
