Leighton Meester for Marie Claire

The always fashionable, Leighton Meester, is the latest “it” girl to grace the cover of Marie Claire’s April 2012 issue. Boldly flashing new bangs, covergirl Meester shares her troubled past with the magazine. Believe it or not, this brunette beauty has more of a rags-to-riches story. Meester’s mother actually gave birth to her while serving time in prison. According to Marie Claire’s recent article, she is “one of those rare children born with both full-blown ambition and the determination to avoid even the slightest derailment”. This is good news for Meester, who took her seemingly troubled past and turned it into a lucrative acting career. Having already solidified her roles in television, she is now venturing into film. The characters Meester has played in previous roles are refreshingly different. These ranging from a rich snob in Gossip Girl, a sweet country singer in Country Strong, or a deranged psycho in The Roomate. Meester will show off her comedic abilities in the latest Adam Sandler movie, That’s My Boy, expected to hit theaters June 2012.
