Agua Bendita at Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Swim 2013
The Colombian born swimwear brand, Agua Bendita, showcased their summer collection during MBFWS, featuring a runway presentation that was playful, joyous and alive with color. Models adorned wet hair looks, making them look as though they just stepped out of the water. Neon hues and bright intricate tribal prints covered sheer paneled mono-kinis and modest one-piece suits. There was a bohemian feeling associated with the show, exemplified by ripped leggings, Lucite visors, and beaded embellishments decorating collars, tops, and hemlines. Tiny pom-pom fringe and sweet ruffles were also a popular accent to chic wrap skirts, checkered print blouses and baby bolero jackets. Even though the neon color palette was exciting, Agua Bendita added a sense of ease with various earth tones in rust, beige, tan and teal. In terms of matching cover-ups, innovative wide leg pants, flowing tunics and military styled jackets and vests complimented swimwear. Sparkles were everywhere, highlighting shoulders, lapels and fringed trims. Towards the end of the fashion show, there was a brilliant shift towards white lace, eyelet cutouts and feminine ruffles. Red also presented itself in pin-up lingerie inspired suits and accessories. Agua Bendita carefully played with the idea of mixing ready-to-wear apparel with swimwear for the ultimate go-to summer ensemble that’s perfect on or off the beach.
